A Bag for Your Banana.
This summer has been a mouthful of deliciousness. I’ve traveled a good bit of miles to congregate with rowdy and spirited crowds. I’ve been in the midst of deep conversations around the amber glow of crackling bonfires. I’ve invested time helping out at a free summer lunch program for kids.
My comfort zone is under construction. I now find myself volunteering to be placed in awkward situations. There are moments when I feel like running back to the crawlspace, but I usually face the challenge. Sometimes with clenched fists.
It’s beautiful when I realize the only thing I have to do is be in this moment. There’s no use in worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet. If it feels right, it’s right for you.
Mainly, I have thrown away many excuses to not fully experience life. There is a great big world out there, kid. A globe full of people, both willing and withholding. Everyone has something to give.
Here’s a video I put together from the Jason Mraz concert I went to last week:
A few days ago, I asked an elderly woman if she needed a bag for a banana she’d just bought. The second she turned to her friend and laughed as a response, I couldn’t have been happier. Do you know how many single bananas end up in plastic bags in my world? A lot.

I stopped over from Alicia’s blog. I hope that’s okay. I think it’s fantastic to challenge your comfort zone. That’s how you grow as a person. I think you should keep doing this!
I absolutely love that exchange you had with the woman and her banana. I get weird looks when I don’t put my fruit in bags and instead carry around my own green shopping bags. I don’t care if I get weird looks. I think everyone else just doesn’t get it.
Welcome to the blogging world!
